It’s Tulip Time!

We offer several types of tulips, starting with the Pink Adouir, which is grown in a warm high tunnel. This encourages early sprouting in spring, letting us provide these bright flowers sooner. Our high tunnel tulips will finish blooming as the field-grown ones start, ensuring a smooth flow of color and beauty in your arrangements and gardens.

We picked our field-grown tulip varieties to lengthen the harvest season. We used a bloom time chart to help us. Our first tulips will be the early varieties: Mystic Prince, Yokohama Orange, and Alison Bradley. These have just started to peek through our leaf mulch.

The last to bloom in our selection will be our exquisite single fringed and stunning double late varieties. For this delightful assortment, we carefully picked Brisbane, San Stefano, Queensland, and Lambada for their unique characteristics and enchanting beauty.

I made a mistake by mixing up my tulip varieties and not labeling where I planted them. It would have been helpful to know what was where, but with farming comes learning.

The kids and I also planted a few hundred Darwin Hybrids in our landscape, and they are starting to peak through the soil. We are excited to see them grow! Darwin varieties are known to last year after year, making them a dependable choice for our landscape. It is rewarding to involve the kids in brightening our landscape and teaching them about all the flowers.
